Sustainability Post

Both of these videos can give people hope that there are going to be successful innovations that solve some of society’s most pressing issues. And they are very simple solutions that will have a huge impact on the well being of our planet and society.
These kinds of innovations will contribute to the greater good of all humanity. I think that finding solutions from nature around us is the best possible solution. We should learn from everything that is around us. These are the most simple solutions and we should be ashamed that we didn’t figure this out sooner. The most important aspect of this kind of innovation is that one projects waste should be another projects fuel. This is something people have been working  on for your are and finally see it happening is a huge step forward in our society. This kind of recycling contributes greatly to society because it means that we are resourceful and can create something out of nothing. If we can accomplish these kinds of innovations then there are not many other problems that we could not overcome
These videos both spoke of sustainability and what that means in todays society, but there is a connection between sustainability and consumerism that both of these speakers failed to mention. Consumerism is what creates the need to establish sustainability. For Example, the restaurant in Amsterdam, without the people to go to the restaurant there would be no continuing cycle of how they get their resources. In this example the restaurant’s waste was turned into something that could be used by the restaurant again.
A sustainable object of my own invention would contain bio-mimicry because I think that this is the most effect way that we can solve some of the problems with in the ecosystem today. My sustainable object would be one that mimic photosynthesis! Two natural resources would be able to remove the salt from salt water in order to make more water available to people around the world.
Both of these speakers had similar opinions of sustainability! That we should learn to be resourceful and take advantage of the gifts that our planet has given. In order to take advantage of these gifts we need to look at nature around us and see how they have survived for thousands of years. Something as insignificant as beetles adaptations that allow it to drink water gives society a solution to the water conservation issue. I am positive that there are many other beings that if we studies hard enough we could learn from and solve major issues
