Hi Class,
View this TedTalk: http://www.ted.com/talks/aaron_koblin.html
After you have seen the video, write at least a 400 word post exploring these types of questions: How do these technological experiments/art forms create glimpses and signs of our humanity? What does that humanity look like in a digital age? What do these visuals say about our culture rhetorically? Why do these types of experiments exist?
Also, Think about the following statement: "An interface can be a powerful narrative device. And as we collect more and more personally and socially relevant data, we have an opportunity, and maybe even an obligation, to maintain [our] humanity and tell some amazing stories"
Don't be limited by the questions above. Pose your own questions and answer them to the best of your ability. I'm not looking for a certain kind of answer, but make sure you incorporate some type of interpretation regarding the rhetoric of these visuals.
This post is due next Wednesday, January 23.
