Data and Society

Data can tell a lot of information about society. With the advanced technology that we have in today’s society, it is much easier for a company to discover the information that they need to discover. It is easy for people to see the data for different things and studies. If a company only wants information about a certain part of data, it is simple for them to obtain this information. This shows the change that is occurring within society. Technology has made it easier for data to be known to anyone with just a click of a button. It is interesting to me that this data can be similar or it could be so different. For example, we all take trips on planes. Whether it be one time, or more regularly, we all fly. It was interesting to see all of the data taken on the number of airplane trips at different times of the day and in the different locations. This says to me that human beings are more unique than they are different. Then he goes on to show something different. He shows the different experiments he has done and the different ways that many different people have contributed to. Each person had a different way to do something. Some people took longer than others. Some people had better drawing than others. Some even question what Aaron was trying to do. After these experiments, Aaron used technology to piece these people together. It was really cool to see all of the information that people put together. I really enjoyed the thing he did for Johnny Cash. I thought it was cool to see all of the many different things that people had done for this. My favorite part of the experiments that he did was the Wilderness Downtown experiment. I actually went and did this experiment and it was really cool to see my house in the video.

Technology has made one thing clear. People can be so different, but those differences can be pieced together to make something new and amazing. Those differences are what make our society and us unique. Our society may be defined by technology, but that is what makes humanity special. Every day is something new and different. Differences that are separate from each other is okay, but together is better. Together makes our society special.  Technology hasn’t defined our society, but it has definitely impacted and defined it. My favorite quote that was said to sum everything up is “Data makes us human."
