And God made a farmer

The first video is the video that aired during the 2013 Super Bowl. It is an advertisement about Dodge Ram. Within the commercial it praises farmers and the work they do. The truck and the farmer are being compared within the first video. In essence, the hard work farmers put in to the society is the same durability the truck will have. Although the obvious case spoke about farmers, it seemed as though the bigger message descried an average working American. Every race and particular individual was featured in the film. It showed how people work hard to do what they can to provide. With every race and individual being presented in the film it made it easier to relate to. The only weakness in the film is that not many farmers are around. The farming age is almost nonexistent and for the commercial to air in 2013 this does not help this claim. When you take into consideration the audience is, this whole claim no longer matters. When you think of a pickup truck, you think of an older gentleman who does outdoor work. This would appeal to them being that they may have grown up in the “farming age”. The second video is a mockery of the first video. It makes a larger argument by stating how people are no longer farmers because in order to produce good crops it takes time and effort. It explains how Americans no longer put in this time in effort. They are lazy and rather take the easy way out. Americans rather hire Mexicans and have them do the work for them. This video appeals to the people of liberal views who believe more in equality of life. The video explains the changing of technology in the sense of farming. There are more people to account for in the US for food and such things so people have found ways to yield more crops. This video uses humor to appeal to more people. The second video mocks the inaccuracy of the first video. Although farmers were hardworking and represented the people of America, that does not exist. Farmers have moved to a different way of working in which their labor is not hard. The second video diverges from the first video in a sense that it takes what the first video is talking about and modifies it to make it seem like farmers don’t have this diligent working mind set. All in all, the first video seemed to appeal to the people in a better way. The fact that the video talked about positive things about Americans, farmers specifically, makes people more susceptible to caving in to a particular idea. The audience was taken into great consideration as well as it was easily relatable.
