"Decisive Photos in front of BillBoards"

This photo titled, Decisive Photos in front of Billboards, uses a great deal of irony in order to make a very important point. This photo is an advertisement for the popular clothing line called Tommy Bahama. This clothing company is dedicated to swim wear and warm weather clothing. This photo is creating a very significant contrast between the lifestyle that is associated with Tommy Bahama clothing and the lifestyle of the woman in the photo.

            This contrast reveals a lot about the meaning of the photo. There is a contrast between the warm weather clothing of the Tommy Bahama brand and the cold clothing the woman is trying to sell. What does this contrast tell the audience about the overall meaning of this advertisement? This means to tell the audience that although their clothing is specific to a certain season, however they are very concerned with the well being of all the different classes within today’s society. This photo also acknowledges the idea that they both have something in common. They are both attempting to make a living by selling clothing however one may be more successful then the other. But the fundamental idea still remains true they are both attempting to make a living and survive in this world.  Both parties are at completely different ends of the spectrums however they go about it in completely different ways

 The overall meaning of this photograph means to say something about society and how we are all-different and can afford different things. But this also begs the question, Why is this the ad they want to gain Facebook likes for their fall line . Perhaps the company simply wants for its followers to stop and contemplate the meaning of this photo and the Tommy Bahama is more then a light hearted and warm weather clothing line. These kinds of clothes are associated with good time with friends and family during the warm weather, but then there is a very different message being portrayed in the photograph. Perhaps the company wants to be taken more seriously and this photo is definitely the one to make that point. It gives   the audience a sense that the company understands the real world and all that goes into it.

            This photograph makes a very important point about what it means to live in today’s society. They would like for the audience to be thankful for the things that we have and that there are people among us from all different walks of life.
